With still-chilly temperatures hovering over Marion County for the time being, the Pella High soccer teams will still hit the field and play a pair of games this afternoon. The girls will open up their season at home against Indianola in a non-conference match-up, and the boys will start the season with a conference game in Oskaloosa. First year head coach for the Lady Dutch, Mark Howard, says that he’s looking for improvements from contest to contest and that starts with their game tonight. Over on the boys’ side, Mark Solomon tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that in years past, his program has been blessed with a lot of veteran, experienced players, that this spring, he’s looking forward to working with a lot of youth. Both the boys and girls start at 5:30 p.m. this evening.
