The City of Knoxville has been selected as the location for Marion County’s Freedom Rock. Mayor Don Zoutte tells KNIA/KRLS News that a Greenfield is touring every county in the state and painting a unique rock to commemorate veterans and troops currently serving. He says that Marion County’s design will be a collage, including images of Governor William Milo Stone and the Iowa Flag. Zoutte adds the Knoxville AmVets have sent in a down payment down, and fundraising will begin later this month. The total project is expected to cost between $9000 and $12,000.
