The boys’ and girls’ track teams at Pella High will be running in a total of 29 events this coming week. The Little Dutch had 18 events qualify based on their performances Thursday at Grinnell; the most in school history. Those making it individually include Chris Brogden in the 100 meter dash, Ryan Shull in the 200 meter dash, Wade Pingel and Lukas Steenhoek in the 400, Pingel in the 800, Evan Jones will run in the 1600, Matt Klein and Keegan Fitzsimmons in the 3200, Kenny DuPre qualified his 110 meter hurdles, Jordon Pingel and DuPre also will run in the 400 meter hurdles, and Garrett Jansen will throw the discus. As far as team events are concerned, Pella will run in the 4 x 100, 200, 400 and 800 meter relays, the distance medley relay, and the shuttle hurdle relay. The Lady Dutch will compete in a total of 11 events: Mackenzie Gustafson and Makenna Bogaard in the 400 meter dash, Lydia VanEe is the top seed in the 400 meter hurdles, Becky Visser will participate in the high jump, Jessica Holterhaus in the long jump, and Lexi Reynolds in the discus. In the relays, the Pella girls will run in the 4 x 100, 200 and 400 meter races, as well as the sprint medley and distance medley.
