The sport of rugby has been catching on around the country, and it has really been taking off here in the state of Iowa. High schools have formed leagues and even have state championships, and for the Central, they even have some football players playing for the Dutch Rugby Club during the spring. Chad Tiemeyer, the president of Central’s rugby club, says that they even play some of the same teams that the football squad does during their season. Tiemeyer added that they are always looking for athletes to join the team, especially for next year, as they will be parting with several seniors due to graduation.
