In what may have been the fastest program run by the Knoxville Raceway Saturday night, the final checkered flag fell just before ten P-M. Officials went to what is called “rain mode” meaning the program went without an intermission, and all victory lane celebrations were moved to the end of the night. Celebrating in victory lane was J. Kinder in the 305s, Joe Beaver in the 360s, and Terry McCarl in the 410. Beaver grabbed the lead on lap three and pulled away for his third career win at Knoxville, and McCarl had to hold off Dusty Zomer to claim victory number 54. Rain did interrupt proceedings for about 15 minutes just before the 410 A-Main, but officials were able to get the track back in shape for the final race.
