An intersection in downtown Knoxville is being dedicated this week for a man who lost his life training for RAGBRAI. The Paul Ladd Memorial Intersection is at Second and Robinson Streets, where the main stage entertainment will be. Ladd was training in Boone last month when he was struck from behind by a car. His RAGBRAI team, Team Navy, and others wore jerseys with the message “three feet please” on Monday in honor of Ladd and other individuals who lost their lives training for the event. Three feet is the recommended safe distance to give bicyclists on the road. A special recognition of the dedication takes place at around 4pm at the intersection Wednesday.
