As RAGBRAI riders came through Bussey Thursday, some found one of their food options a little unusual. Katy-Did’s in Bussey was serving tomato sandwiches. Cinda Comstack, with Katy-Did’s in Bussey, says many riders asked about the nature of the sandwiches. Comstack explains the original store owner came from a family of 13 that grew up on plain tomato sandwiches since they couldn’t afford bacon or lettuce. It became a tradition that Katy-Did’s still offers today.
