Koester Construction was revealed as the low bidder for the Courthouse Clock Tower project. The Marion County Board of Supervisors opened three sealed bids during a special session Tuesday morning. The Grimes-based company’s bid of around $178,000 was 15 percent lower than the next-lowest bid.

The project consists of replacing brick and mortar that has been worn down in the clock tower. County staff will now examine the bids and ensure they meet specifications before officially awarding the contract at a later date. The project is expected to be completed this fall.
