Last week was the Iowa Character Awards dinner in Des Moines. Pella High teacher and Head Cross Country Coach, Doug Cutler, accepted the award for Educator of the Year. Cutler says that he is humbled by the recognition, and sees the award as a reflection of his entire staff and students. The City of Pella was also named Community of Character of the Year for developing a comprehensive, sustained community-wide initiative to support good character with integrated character development throughout the community.
