The Marion County Engineers office reports that Kovilic Construction, the contractor working on Red Rock Dam, closed Highway T-15 this morning, and it will remain closed until the evening of August 23rd. The Army Corp of Engineers tells KNIA/KRLS News that the Red Rock Dam is a working dam, and that closing T-15 is required in order to perform routine maintenance. Also, unrelated construction work has begun on the G46/T15 intersection. The county Engineer’s Office anticipates that this intersection will remain open until the Dam is reopened, however it will close completely for approximately a week after the 23rd. Travelers should expect delays at this intersection since at times only one lane of traffic will be open.
