A former Knoxville resident is returning to the community with a special art exhibit. Andrew Carter will have a brand new collection of art at Art 101 next month. Carter was in town last year with an exhibit called “Brain Food.” This year, he’ll be bringing in around 40 new pieces. Carter uses the acrylic medium and abstract techniques to create his scenes and imagery. He says his process usually starts with a random brush stroke and finding a recognizable image in the canvass’s negative space. The reception is September 7th from 6-to-9pm at Art 101. Drinks and appetizers will be available, and Carter will talk about his work with guests. He’ll also be teaching an adult painting class that Friday and will give a sneak peak of the show.
