There were no major changes made to student handbooks in Knoxville this year. The dress code continues to prohibit students from wearing items promoting items illegal for minors, such as tobacco and alcohol, and any clothing displaying offensive gestures for remarks. Students may also not wear any type of headwear. Clothing must provide adequate coverage – girls may not wear tube tops and boys must have their pants pulled up to an appropriate level.

Most changes to the Pella Community Schools Handbook this year are minor and reference the new one-to-one program. For dress code, no student is allowed to wear clothing which displays obscene material or messages which are interpreted as being inappropriate or offensive. If the student’s dress or hygiene interferes with the normal classroom procedure, health of the person involved, and/or health or welfare of other students, it shall be the duty of any staff member to address the issue in an appropriate manner.
