Today at the Iowa vs Iowa State game, six year old Stella Turnbull of Pella, will serve as the Kid Captain for the Hawkeye Football team. Turnbull was born with Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type I, a genetic muscular disease. All Kid Captains and their families got to attend Kids Day at Kinnick Stadium in August, and received a special behind-the-scenes tour of the facilities. Each child’s story will also be highlighted during the football season.
