Marion, Mahaska, and Jasper counties, along with over 41% of Iowa, mostly in the center section of the state, are suffering severe drought conditions according to the most recent State Drought Monitor. Over 97% of the state is experiencing abnormally to severe drought conditions, with the majority of Delaware, Dubuque, and Buchanan counties being the exception.
