Pine Knolls Country Club in Knoxville will play host to the first cross country meet in October of 2013 this afternoon. The Panthers will be joined by Pella, Pella Christian, PCM, Twin Cedars, Pleasantville and several other area schools who are all trying to further improve their times in preparation for the Little Hawkeye Conference and State Qualifying Meets which are a few weeks away. After facing some Class 4A schools and some stiffer competition from other states in the Midwest, Pella Coach Doug Cutler says the Knoxville meet will be more of a return to the norm for his teams. Being the smaller school in the Little Hawkeye Conference, Pella Christian coach Jocelyn Meinders says it’ll be another good test for her boys and girls to get them ready for the state qualifying meet later this month. The varsity high school meet in Knoxville is scheduled to start at 5:00 p.m.
