Marion, Mahaska, and Jasper counties are still experiencing severe conditions according to the latest US Drought Monitor released yesterday. Approximately 35% of the state is suffering severe conditions, 40% moderate, 15% is abnormally dry, 2% extreme, and 5% of the state is no longer experiencing a drought.
