At last night’s Knoxville City Council meeting, Mayor Don Zoutte officiated the swearing-in of new Fire Chief Jim Mitchell. Motions were passed to approve a special event application for a Storytelling Festival; the second reading of an ordinance related to the operation of off-road utility vehicles on city streets; and the review of the job description for the Community Service Officer and Parking Enforcement Officer. Also discussed were administrative services related to the community development block grant; the increase of fees at Graceland Cemetery; and aspects of a bicycle ordinance. All council members were present, and all motions carried.
