Peace Tree Brewery in downtown Knoxville, has a new brew called Templeton Red that’s due out in less than two weeks. But you might not get to try it that soon. Megan McKay, co-owner of Peace Tree Brewery, tells KNIA KRLS News that the brewery has been affected by the partial government shutdown. Due to the shutdown, the agency that regulates and approves the labels for their crafted beers, the Tobacco,Tax and Trade Bureau, is currently not operating, so new labels are not being approved. The brewery can still bottle Templeton Red, but McKay says that if it is bottled without labels, then it has to be stored somewhere, and then touched again when labels do arrive. McKay says that being a small business, storage becomes an issue when product can not be shipped to clients.
