Enrollment numbers are also in at Pella, Pella Christian, PCM and North Mahaska. Both Pella Christian Grade School and High School experienced slight growth, while Pella Community schools lost 52 students between Kindergarten and eleventh grade. Superintendent Greg Ebeling says that while the decrease is serious, the district is financially strong, and cuts won’t need to be made. Ebeling did add that if this becomes a yearly trend, budgets would need to be reevaluated. PCM numbers are up 43 students, while North Mahaska is down 42. North Mahaska Superintendent Randy Moffit says their numbers are down partly because of open enrollment, and partly due to graduating a large class in 2013.
