Marion County is expected to experience it’s first hard freeze tonight. Brad Fillback, from the National Weather Service says the average first frost is between October 6th and 9th. Sherryl Nunnikhoven at Dutch Meadows says that if you want to save any of your plants, you need to wrap them in fabric before Tuesday night. Nunnikhoven says that you should not wrap plants in plastic, because it will not work. She continues to say that a hard freeze gets down to 27 or 28 degrees, and if you don’t protect your plants ahead of time, they likely will be lost.
