Daryn Pittman held on to win the closest finish in World of Outlaws history to win his first points title by 14 points over Donny Schatz. Pittman held at 36-point lead over Schatz going into last night’s final race of the season at the Dirt Track in Charlotte. Schatz finished third in the A-Main behind Paul McMahan and Jason Sides, but Pittman’s 11th place finish in the A was just enough to give him the his first career World of Outlaws title in his first year with Kasey Kahne Racing.
