The Knoxville Township Rural Fire Department received a unique, early Christmas Gift from 3M–a firetruck. The truck is no longer needed by 3M. Knoxville Township Rural Fire Chief Kenny Thompson tells KNIA/KRLS News that the department appreciates the gift, and that it will be put to good use. 3M is in the coverage area for the department. Cory Carr, with 3M, said that they’ve had the truck for 25-30 years, and they thought Knoxville Rural would make good use for it. He said the decision was easy, as Knoxville Rural showed interest in it, and will restore the 1975 truck to proper working order.
