If the kids are getting bored over break, there are things for them to do in Knoxville. For young race fans, through December 31, the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Museum has a Salute to Champion Mario Andretti display. This is the only place in the world where you can see this group of seven race cars driven by Mario Andretti, all together in one place. Hours are 10 to 6 today, and from noon to 5 Saturday and Sunday. The Knoxville Rec Center is offering open swim times from 1 to 4 today and Monday, and on Tuesday from 1-3. Holly Shelford, Youth Services Coordinator with the Knoxville Public Library says they will offer a chess and game day for third through 8th graders from 1:30 to 3 today, and she says the library will be open despite the water damage to the first floor this week.
