After big changes in the U.S. drought monitor this fall, very little has changed in December. The latest monitor released yesterday has Marion, Mahaska, and Jasper counties in the severe category with approximately 20% of Iowa, while 33% of the state is moderately dry, and 24% is abnormally dry. That leaves 23% of the state no longer suffering any drought conditions at all.
