At approximately 2:30 yesterday afternoon, multiple agencies were dispatched to a two-semi accident at the intersection of Highway 14 and G76, south of Knoxville. A truck with a grain trailer was eastbound on G76 when it collided with a Hy-Vee truck in the intersection. The grain truck has since been moved, but as of 5:00 this morning, the Hy-Vee truck was still in the yard of the property on the northeast corner of the intersection. Part of the spilled load has been tarped, and there was another Hy-Vee truck on the scene. Marion County Sheriff, the Iowa State Patrol and Columbia Fire and Rescue were among those at the scene. The driver of the Hy-Vee truck was transported to Chariton Family Medical Center with apparent non-life-threatening injuries. The condition of the driver of the grain truck is unknown. The accident remains under investigation. KNIA KRLS News will bring you updates as soon as they become available.
