The Pella Police Department will have extra officers on patrol tonight for New Years Eve. Lt. Shane Cox of the Pella PD says that there will be an emphasis on traffic enforcement and officers looking for impaired drivers. Cox adds that with a high number of individuals out drinking, they do typically see an influx of callers with reports of impaired driving. Cox reminds listeners that if you are going to consume alcohol, to do so responsibly, and to arrange for a designated driver.
