Icy conditions may have contributed to a single-vehicle rollover accident in Knoxville Tuesday. At approximately 8:30 Tuesday morning, Marion County Sheriff’s deputies, Knoxville Police, Knoxville Fire and Rescue and Knoxville Township Rural Fire Department were called to the scene on South Attica Road in Knoxville. The driver of the ¾ ton Chevy pickup said she was northbound on Attica Road when the pickup started to slide, ultimately rolling down the east embankment on the north end of the overpass. The driver of the pickup apparently suffered no injury, and she refused ambulance service. There is damage to a guardrail. Officers at the scene said that the DOT was called to treat the roadway. Officer Hucks, with the Knoxville Police Department commended the driver of the vehicle for wearing her seatbelt. He said had she not been, the outcome could have been much worse.
