The Marion County Board of Supervisors held their annual organizational meeting Wednesday morning. Craig Agan was named as 2014 Board Chair and Mark Raymie was named as Vice Chair. The farm-to-market resolution authorizing Marion County Engineer Tyler Christian to execute the certification of work on farm-to-market projects in Marion County was approved. Marion County Sheriff Jason Sandholt was approved as the authorized administrator of the County Law Enforcement Center. A suggestion was made to allow county employees to have the day after Christmas as a holiday this year; Christmas falls on a Thursday in 2014, so county employees would then have Friday off as well. This item was added to the official 2014 holiday calendar, and the calendar was approved. One other item on the agenda was the appointment of the Marion County Sheriff’s Deputy and reserve peace officer appointments, but Sheriff Jason Sandholt asked that these items be held at another meeting so the Sheriff’s department can make offers and get the appointments in line.
