Around 10 am Friday morning, Knoxville Water Works crews were called to a water main break just west of the intersection of Robinson and South Second streets.Crew members on the scene tell KNIA KRLS News that the main froze, and rather than spilling out on the surface, it leaked below ground. Several businesses along the south side of the street were affected. Crew members said the cold weather doesn’t help, but that it is what it is and they will do the job and get it repaired. Staff at Knoxville Water Works say that there are 3 or 4 businesses that have been contacted that will need to boil their water until tests are completed, but water is on and the main is fixed.
