With extremely cold temperatures forecast for today, Pella Superintendent Greg Ebeling sent a note out to parents Friday, notifying them that inclement weather would likely affect the school day. Last night Ebeling told KNIA/KRLS that they have decided to cancel school for the day due to the extreme conditions. As we mentioned, Knoxville, Pella Christian, Melcher-Dallas, Twin Cedars, Pleasantville, PCM, North Mahaska, Peoria Christian, Lynnville-Sully, and Sully Christian have all cancelled classes as well. Ebeling finished by reminding parents that even 5 to 10 minutes of bare skin exposure in these temperatures can lead to frost bite.
