As KNIA KRLS News reported this week, Dr. Marianette Miller-Meeks submitted her resignation as the director of the Iowa Department of Public Health on Thursday. An interim director has been appointed – his name is Gerd Clabaugh. Marion County Public Health Director Kim Dorn says “I have worked wtih Gerd, and have known him for years. He will be a good leader for IDPH.” Clabaugh will take over the role on January 17, and says he looks forward to working with the administration in this new interim role, and looks forward to working with public health partners during this time of transition.
