The Manufacturing Institute recently announced that two Vermeer employees were included in the 160 Honorees for the Women in Manufacturing STEP Award. STEP stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Production. The two recipients are Wanti Muchtar, a Senior Metallurgical Engineer at Vermeer whose analyses have resulted in large cost-savings, and the improvement of machines for better performance. The other recipient is Alicia Kuhlman, a Senior Structural Analyst. Kuhlman has increased her team’s analytical capacity through hardware and software improvements, the introduction of computational fluid dynamics, and thermal analysis. The women will be honored on February 6th at the annual STEP Awards in Washington, D.C.
