Ranger Tracy Spry with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Lake Red Rock tells KNIA/KRLS News that the big question she gets year round is, how can I see the eagles? Spry says that January is actually the prime viewing period of our national symbol, with as many as 150 at a time in sight from the visitor’s center and around the dam. Spry does advise that eagle viewing etiquette does require giving the predatory bird plenty of space, because every time you cause the animal to fly off, it wastes energy they need to survive. She says that it’s best to find a nice, safe spot to view the creature with binoculars.
