U.S. Congressman Dave Loebsack met with physicians and staff at Pella Regional Health Center recently, and during a tour of the facility, CEO Bob Kroese and Chief Nursing Officer Yvonne O’Brien-Evans spoke with Loebsack about concerns affecting critical access hospitals. Kroese says they value the opportunity to talk with our legislators about issues within payments for Medicare and Medicaid. He adds that rural health care in Iowa serves so many of our seniors and it’s important that Iowa residents continue to receive the best care, and that Medicare and Medicaid continues to fund the appropriate cost of their care. At the end of the tour, Loebsack also met with Dr. Craig Wittenberg, Chief Medical Director, and Dr. Mike Thompson, Chief of Surgery.
