Knoxville’s elementary schools held a “Soup-er” Bowl recently, which was a competition between the schools to see who could raise the largest amount of cans of soup to be donated to the end-of-the-month meals in Marion County. First Grade teacher Brynn Phillips says West Elementary was the winner, having collected 242 cans. Phillips says there was a prize as well, a $50 gift certificate from The Next Chapter, for their library. The kids were then treated to a Super Bowl snack party. The soup will be distributed for those in need by the end of the month meals program.
