Linda Groenendyk, Cardiac Nurse at Pella Regional, tells KNIA/KRLS News that it’s never too early to start being healthy in your lifestyle, including being as active as possible. She says that the American Heart Association recommends at least 30 minutes of fairly moderate to intense exercise five to seven days a week. She adds it’s also very important to have your blood pressure checked to make sure it’s lower than 120 over 80. Groenendyk continues by saying that an extended period of high blood pressure can lead to serious heart problems.
