Marion County Emergency Management Coordinator Jeff Anderson says that Marion County fire departments here have been doing Firefighter 1 and Firefighter 2 training for years. But, starting next month, the plan is to now pull everyone together in a centrally located area, and use 5 or 6 local instructors instead of contracting through the Fire Service Training Bureau with other instructors. He says the reason behind the change is so all Marion County firefighters are trained by Marion County instructors. He says the classes will start March 3.
