The Pella Convention and Visitors Bureau recently talked tourism at the annual Legislative Showcase. Jill Vandevoort, Executive Director of the CVB, says that it’s important that not only our Legislators recognize the importance of tourism for Iowa, but that each one of us sees its value as well. In the past decade plus, Marion County travel spending has nearly doubled to over 48 million dollars a year, with the state totalling more than 7.6 billion dollars in revenue gains.
