At the City Council meeting in Knoxville recently, building and plumbing codes were a topic of discussion. According to City Manager Harold Stewart, the codes the city is using are from 2009, but the code has never officially changed from 1994. The first reading of the ordinance to change the codes will be at the next Council meeting on March 3. Stewart said then later this summer, the 2015 codes will be published, and at that time the City will update and be fully compliant.
