Marion County Emergency Management Coordinator Jeff Anderson says the new firefighter academy, which begins Monday, March 3, will centralize firefighter training, using 5 local instructors, with local equipment and local techniques. He says Knoxville City Fire Chief Jim Mitchell, and Knoxville City firefighters Ben Truetken and Chris Camden along with Pella firefighters Jason Schroeder and Jeremy Scott have stepped up to be the instructors, for what he says will be approximately 120 hours of firefighter training.
