The Knoxville High School Jazz band ended their 2014 season with a first place win at Truman State Jazz Fest recently. Instructor Kelilah Brown says the band earned the highest scores of all competitors from all classes. The judges noted the overall excellence of the group, music choices, and strong solo performances. Knoxville had finished third earlier in the day at Indian Hills jazz competition with soloist awards going to Melissa Molloy, Scott Molloy, Tyler Ramie, Janna DeMoss and Koltyn Welker. Brown says the Jazz band has one performance left on March 18 at the spring band concert in the new Knoxville Performing Arts Center.
