Thursday the Marion County Farm Bureau hosted fourth graders from around the county at Vermeer’s Global Pavilion. Participating schools included Pella, Pella Christian, Knoxville, Melcher-Dallas, and Twin Cedars. David Van Rheenen, President of the Marion County Farm Bureau says that they hold the educational event for area students to teach them about food production and where they stand in the food chain. Pella Christian fourth grader Carter Vos says that he enjoyed learning how many eggs are produced, how they can more easily milk cows, and why ethanol is so popular.
