Shortly after noon yesterday, the Pella Fire Department received a call for a controlled burn that had gotten out of control at 819 197th Place, inside Dingeman Estates, located west of Pella. The Fire Department was able to quickly extinguish the flames, however, the size of the fire called for an additional water tanker to be brought on scene to put out an additional hot spots. Firefighters on scene tell KNIA/KRLS News that a shift in wind is what caused the controlled burn to lose control. No one was harmed, and no damage was reported. Pella Fire and Rescue and Ambulance responded to the call.
