Representative Bruce Braley tells KNIA/KRLS news that while the Affordable Care Act isn’t perfect, we can’t go back to the way it was before. Braley wants to remind people that before the ACA, insurance companies had the ability to deny coverage based on preexisting conditions, or simply terminate a policy without any explanation at all. He adds that they have worked hard to address concerns with the website, and now it’s much easier to enroll. If you do not currently have health insurance, you have until Monday to enroll at healthcare.gov. Anyone without insurance, who does not enroll, will be subject to penalties when filing your 2014 taxes.
