Severe weather awareness week continues through Friday, and while preparedness includes all citizens, it is especially crucial for emergency officials such as police and fire and rescue crews. Knoxville Fire and Rescue Chief Jim Mitchell says if it appears Knoxville is going to take a direct hit from a tornado, his crews will react and if necessary, move all the departments trucks and gear out of the fire station. He says the last thing anyone wants is to have rescue personnel crippled by having a demolished station and no way to get trucks and ambulances out.
