Last night the City of Pella hosted the annual Public Safety Volunteers Appreciation Dinner for local fire, ambulance, and reserve police officers. Police Chief Robert Bokinsky emceed the event, and five local volunteers received plaques for hitting milestone years of service. Honorees included Dan Vanderbeek with 20, and Marvin Vander Wiel with 30 years with the community ambulance. Three Firefighters were also honored, including Jason Schroeder and Brad Ter Louw with 10 years each, and Greg Stump for 15 years. The evening concluded with a speech from Mayor Mueller who thanked the volunteers, and their families for all the sacrifices they make for our city.
