Public Health Awareness Week is April 7 through 13, and Diane Ellis, Assistant Director of Marion County Public Health tells KNIA KRLS News that there is a daily theme for the week. She says those themes range from “Healthy From the Start,” which focuses on maternal health, and beginning healthy habits at home, to disaster preparedness, preventing illness and disease through education and immunization, to practicing healthy eating habits. Ellis says the final theme, for Friday is to be the “Healthiest Nation in One Generation,” which stresses best practices for community health come from around the globe.
