Knoxville’s City Council this week approved a letter to be sent to the Department of Veteran’s Affairs regarding the Enhanced-Use Lease process with the Knoxville VA campus. City Manager Harold Stewart tells KNIA KRLS News that the city is withdrawing its support for the Knoxville Veteran’s Alliance to continue in the process in obtaining the property from the VA because of several reasons, including several years of no progress, and both partners have requested the City of Knoxville consider buying out the lease. He adds that these signs, among others, indicate no interest, from either the VA or the KVA, in moving forward with development of the property.
