Kids, even though they may seem mature, can be vulnerable to predatory behavior when it comes to being online and meeting people they don’t know, but might think they can trust. Pam Bettger, Prevention Specialist with Crossroads of Pella, travels to Marion County school districts and provides internet safety education, and next week, she will travel to Melcher-Dallas and Pleasantville to talk to 4th, 5th and 6th graders May 13, 14 and 15, about how to stay safe, and how to ask for help if they’ve gotten involved in a scary situation.
