A garage fire in Knoxville Saturday was sparked by embers left over from ashes dumped out of a fire pit. Knoxville Fire and Rescue Chief Jim Mitchell tells KNIA KRLS News that the blaze was minor, and nobody was injured. He says embers were dumped behind the garage Friday evening, which sparked a fire in some nearby vegetation and burned the side of the garage.
Chief Mitchell says to make very certain all embers are completely out when you are disposing of ashes from a fire pit or any other fire.
